Overview

The Director, Video Production is responsible for managing and leading all production aspects of video projects, from pre-production and production through post-production and successful delivery of content for use on Playboy’s websites, networks and other distribution channels.   This position requires extensive knowledge about the technical requirements for digital, linear and on-demand entertainment, and a thorough understanding of how production resources impact creative outcomes.

Responsibilities

The Director, Video Production possesses the ability to:

  • Manage budgets and calendars to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Lead a video production team in a levelheaded manner with an aptitude to make quick, quality decisions.
  • Effectively work with talent on and off camera to ensure optimal performances.
  • Work on multiple deadlines at once while remaining cool under pressure.
  • Coordinate and scout locations keeping in line with the look, feel and budget of each project.

  • First-rate technical skills with camera, lighting, and sound recording technology
  • Deep understanding of content creation for linear, digital, on-demand and social platforms
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to comfortably and professionally interact with colleagues at all levels
  • Stellar attention to detail


Experience

  • 5+ years hands-on experience producing original, entertainment-related video content for digital audiences, including writing experience
  • A. or B.S. degree
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere and Final Cut
  • Must have unrestricted access to legally work in the United States.
